GDC Delegation In Congo »

April 2007

A GDC delegation returned from Congo Brazzaville, where 3 professors from North Carolina State University met with government officials to assess needs and identify sectors for cooperation between the University and the Department of Agriculture.

Progress was made in the awarding to GDC of the rural road rehabilitation project in the Republic of Guinea - Conakry. The amount of the proposed project will total near 2 millions dollars.

Congo's Minister of Agriculture Visits Washington, D.C. »

Upon invitation of GDC, her Excellency Mdm. Jeanne Dambendzet, Minister of Agriculture (Congo) visited North Carolina and Washington, D.C. Meetings were conducted with the legislative agricultural advisors of Senators Burr and Dole, and Congressman Hayes of North Carolina; the Dean and Department Heads for the College of Agriculture at North Carolina State University; the Deputy Commissioner of the NC Department of Agriculture; along with leading businessmen and investors.

Five New Contracts Awarded And Signed »

July 2006

GDC took a business delegation from North Carolina to Republic of Congo to engage in negotiations and contract signings with the Ministry of Agriculture. Five contracts were signed between the North Carolina based companies and the Minister of Agriculture, Mdm. Jeanne Dambendzet. The following government projects were awarded:

▪ Food Sufficiency project to increase crop productions and improve Animal
Husbandry outlooks
▪ National Agricultural Cooperative Program
▪ National Mechanization project to purchase farm equipment and provide training
▪ Food Transformation project to develop improved food storage and distribution
▪ Fishing Port Construction in Pointe Noir, including a fish processing plant
